メルボルンカップ
11月の第一週目の火曜日は年に一度のイベント「メルボルンカップ」の日です。 この日は仕事も勉強もそっちのけで、みんな馬にお金をつぎ込みます。 これがオーストラリアという国のいいところ！ うちの学校も午後の授業はそっちのけで、みんなで近くのステインバーに。
なぜか前のおじさんだけカメラ目線
並んでたのでお金はかけなかったのですが、異様な盛り上がり。
学生時代に行った立川の場外馬券場を思い出しました。
後でニュースで知ったのですが、この日の売上実に1億2600万ドル。
日本円に直すと約100億円ですよ。
一年いると、色んなイベントありますね、ホント。
